Hey!

I’m a computer engineering student who stumbled into open source through quantum physics — and honestly never looked back. This summer I’m a Google Summer of Code 2026 contributor, working on making QuTiP’s HEOM solver scale beyond a single machine.

Current Work

Google Summer of Code 2026 Contributor
May 2026 - Present

Working with NumFOCUS on building a distributed HEOM solver for QuTiP (Quantum Toolbox in Python). The project integrates PETSc and MPI into the existing solver so that large-scale open quantum system simulations can be distributed across HPC clusters — without touching anything for users who don’t need it.

Key contributions: - Profiling the existing HEOM solver to identify memory and compute bottlenecks - Designing a distributed data layout for the hierarchy across MPI ranks - Integrating PETSc’s TS interface for distributed ODE integration - Writing HPC tutorials and documentation for real cluster workflows
